A bag contains Rs. 90 in coins. If coins of 50 paise, 25 paise and 10 paise are in the ratio 2:3: 5, then the number of 25 paise coins in the Bag is

    A)  80

    B)  100

    C)  120

    D)         35

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

     Total value of coins \[=Rs.\text{ }90\] Proportion of number of 50 paise, 25 paise and 10 paise coins \[=2:3:5\] Proportion of their values \[=2\times 50:3\times 25:5\times 10\] \[=100:75:50\] Sum of the proportion\[=100+75+50=225\] \[\therefore \] Values of 25 paise coins \[=Rs\frac{90}{225}.\times 75=Rs.30\] Hence, number of 25 coins\[=30\times 4=120\].
