    Study the following equation.
    \[\frac{\mathbf{1}}{\mathbf{3}}\mathbf{+}\frac{\mathbf{2}}{\mathbf{9}}\mathbf{=}\frac{\mathbf{N+1}}{\mathbf{N+5}}\]
What is the value of N?

    A)  5

    B)    \[\frac{5}{9}\]

    C)  4

    D)     9

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[\frac{1}{3}+\frac{2}{9}=\frac{1\times 3}{3\times 3}+\frac{2}{9}=\frac{4+1}{4+5}\] Comparing the sum obtained with \[\frac{\text{N + 1}}{\text{N + 5}}\] we get N = 4.
