    Solution :

    Total mass of 3 watermelons \[=10\frac{1}{2}\text{ kg =}\frac{21}{2}\text{ kg}\] Mass of 2 of them \[=2\times 2\frac{3}{4}=2\times \frac{11}{4}=\frac{11}{2}\text{ kg}\] \[\therefore \] Mass of the 3rd watermelon \[=\left( \frac{21}{2}-\frac{11}{2} \right)\text{ kg}\] \[=\frac{10}{2}\text{ kg = 5 kg}\]
