The two diagonals of a rhombus are 24 cm and 10 cm long. The length of each side of the rhombus is

    A)  17 cm

    B)  16 cm

    C)  14 cm

    D)  13 cm

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

     Given, \[{{d}_{1}}=24\,cm,\,\,{{d}_{2}}=10cm\] Side of rhombus \[=\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{d_{1}^{2}+d_{2}^{2}}\]                 \[=\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{{{(24)}^{2}}+{{(10)}^{2}}}\]                 \[=\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{576+100}=\frac{1}{2}\sqrt{676}\]                 \[=\frac{1}{2}\times 26=13\,cm\]
