A ball is released from the top of a tower of height h metres. It takes T seconds to reach the ground. What is the position of ball above the ground in \[T/5\] seconds?

    A) \[\frac{h}{25}m\]

    B) \[25h\,\,m\]

    C)        \[24h\,\,m\]

    D)        \[\frac{24}{25}h\,\,m\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    Here, height = h m, time \[\text{=}\frac{\text{T}}{\text{5}}\text{s}\] As \[\text{s=ut+}\frac{1}{2}a{{t}^{2}}\therefore h'=\frac{1}{2}g{{\left( \frac{T}{5} \right)}^{2}}(\because u=0)\] Or \[h'=\frac{1}{2}g\frac{{{T}^{2}}}{25}\]         or \[h'=\frac{1}{25}\left( \frac{1}{2}g{{T}^{2}} \right)\] Or \[h'=\frac{1}{25}h\] \[\therefore \] Position above the ground \[=h-h'=h-\frac{h}{25}=\frac{24h}{25}m\]
