    Let age of Ashima be x years. Then, age of Sunita Is 2x years, According to question, we have \[4(x6)=2x+4\] \[\Rightarrow 4x-24=2x+4\Rightarrow 2x=28\Rightarrow x=14\] \[\therefore \] Age of Ashima =14 years Age of Sunita \[\text{=2}\times \text{14=28 years}\] Sum of their ages = 42 years Hence, two years ago they were                                     42 - 4 = 38 years
