    (a) Identify the places labelled ?A' and 'B' in the graphs on the basis of their climate characteristics.
    (b) Name the place which receives the most rainfall in winter season and give reasons for it.
    (c) Name the place which receives the maximum annual rainfall and give reasons for it.
    (d) Name the place which has the lower range of temperature and give reasons for it.

    Answer:

    (a) Place labelled 'A' is Shillong and place labelled 'B' is Chennai.
    (b) Place 'B', Chennai receives most of its rainfall in winter from North-east monsoon due to its location along the South-eastern coast.
    Place' A', Shillong receives maximum annual rainfall from Bay of Bengal branch of South-west monsoons, as it is located on the windward side of the Meghalaya hills and is first obstruction to the Bay of Bengal branch.
    Place 'B' Chennai has the lower range of temperature because it is located on the coast and sea has moderating influence on the temperature.
