The anti-poverty strategy of the current government is based broadly on two plans: (i) (a) Economic growth helps significantly in reduction of poverty. It results in higher incomes and a better standard of living. (b) It widens opportunities of employment. (c) It also provides resources needed to invest in human development. (d) Better infrastructure increases employment opportunities. (ii) The government has introduced several measures for the removal of poverty.
