  • question_answer
The voltage V and current l graphs for a conductor at two different temperatures \[{{T}_{1}}\]and \[{{T}_{2}}\]are shown in the figure. The relation between \[{{T}_{1}}\]and \[{{T}_{2}}\]is:

    A) \[{{T}_{1}}>{{T}_{2}}\]

    B) \[{{T}_{1}}<{{T}_{2}}\]

    C) \[{{T}_{1}}={{T}_{2}}\]

    D) \[{{T}_{1}}=\frac{1}{{{T}_{2}}}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    (a) \[{{T}_{1}}>{{T}_{2}}\] The slope of V-l graph gives the resistance of a conductor at a given temperature. From the graph, it follows that resistance of a conductor at temperature \[{{T}_{1}}\] is greater than at temperature\[{{T}_{2}}\]. As the resistance of a conductor is more at higher temperature and less at lower temperature, hence \[{{T}_{1}}>{{T}_{2}}\].
