12th Class Physics Electro Magnetic Induction Question Bank MCQ - Electromagnetic Induction

  • question_answer
Two coils ‘A’ and ‘B’ having turns 300 and 600 respectively are placed near each other. On passing a current of 3A in ‘A’ the flux linked with 'A’ is \[1.2\times {{10}^{-4}}Wb\] and with ‘B’ it is \[9\times {{10}^{-5}}Wb\]. The mutual induction of the system is:

    A) \[2.4\times {{10}^{-4}}H\]

    B) \[0.4\times {{10}^{-5}}H\]

    C) \[8\times {{10}^{-5}}H\]

    D) \[2\times {{10}^{-5}}H\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    (c) \[8\times {{10}^{-5}}H\] flux linked, \[{{\phi }_{1}}={{\mu }_{0}}N_{1}^{2}l\left( \frac{A}{L} \right)\]                                                                                                                    ...(1) Mutual inductance, \[M={{\mu }_{0}}{{N}_{1}}{{N}_{2}}\left( \frac{A}{L} \right)\] [Assuming both coil have same A and L]                                                                                       ...(2) On dividing eq. (2) from eq. (1)                 \[\frac{M}{{{\phi }_{1}}}=\frac{{{N}_{2}}}{{{N}_{1}}l}\] \[\Rightarrow M=\frac{{{N}_{2}}\phi }{{{N}_{1}}l}=\frac{600}{300}\times \frac{1.2\times {{10}^{-4}}}{3}\]             \[=8\times {{10}^{-5}}H\]
