    Solution :

    [a] We know that, mid-point of the diameter of the circle is centre of the circle.
    \[\therefore \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,(3,5)=\left\{ \frac{4+2}{2},\frac{7+y}{2} \right\}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,(3,5)=\left\{ 3,\frac{7+y}{2} \right\}\]
    On comparing, we get
    \[5=\frac{7+y}{2}\,\,\,\,\Rightarrow \,\,\,y=10-7=3\]
