The volumes of two spheres are in the ratio 64 : 27. Find the radius of the larger if the sum of their radii is 21 cm.

    A) 9cm

    B) 12cm

    C) 15cm

    D) 14cm

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Let the radius of the larger sphere be r cm. Then the radius of other will be (21 - r) cm. According to the equation, \[2\pi r\] \[AOBC=\frac{\theta }{{{360}^{o}}}\pi {{r}^{2}}\]\[\Delta AOB\] \[Arc\frac{\theta }{{{360}^{o}}}\times 2\pi r,\] \[\theta \] \[(\pi =3.14)\] \[={{4}^{2}}-4\times \frac{{{90}^{o}}}{{{360}^{o}}}\times \pi \times {{2}^{2}}=16-4\times \frac{1}{4}\times 3.14\times 4\]
