    Tin is non-toxic and resistant to corrosion so it is used to preserve food. The metal is rolled into thin sheets to make tin foils used in making collapsible tubes. Tin is mixed with copper to make bronze. Tin is alloyed with lead to make teme. Pewter which is an alloy of tin mixed with copper, antimony, bismuth and lead is used for making ornaments and decorative objects. Gold is used for making jewellery and other luxury items. It is alloyed with other metals like copper, zinc and silver.
