    Solution :

                    \[v\propto \frac{1}{\sqrt{r}}.\] % increase in speed = \[\frac{1}{2}\] (% decrease in radius)                                             \[=\frac{1}{2}(1%)=0.5%\] i.e. speed will increase by 0.5%
