Bulging of the earth at the equator and flattening at the poles, day and night, a sense of direction, deflection of winds and ocean currents, tides which occur twice a day. It causes dawn and dusk. Revolution of the earth causes leap year, change of seasons, varying of lengths of days and nights, solstices and equinoxes.
