A and C together can do it in 12 days, while A and B together can do it in \[13\frac{1}{3}\] days. The money will be divided in the ratio [SSC CGL Tier II, 2017]

    A) 4 : 5 : 6

    B) 4 : 7 : 5

    C) 5 : 7 : 4

    D) 5 : 6 : 8

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    [a] \[(A+B+C)=\frac{1}{8}\]                          …(i)
                \[A+C=\frac{1}{12}\]                            …(ii)
    and       \[A+B=\frac{1}{13\frac{1}{3}}=\frac{1}{\frac{40}{3}}=\frac{3}{40}\]             …(iii)
Now, solving (i), (ii) and (iii), we have
                \[A=\frac{1}{30},\] \[B=\frac{1}{24}\] and \[C=\frac{1}{20}\]
                \[\therefore \] Required ratio
    \[=\frac{1}{30}:\frac{1}{24}:\frac{1}{20}=\frac{120}{30}:\frac{120}{24}:\frac{120}{20}=4:5:6\]
