Out of blue and red light which is deviated more by a prism? Give reason. Or Rays of red and blue light are incident on a given prism. Explain, which will have the larger value of \[{{\delta }_{m}},\] the angle of minimum deviation?

    Answer:

The deviation produced by a small-angled prism is given by \[\delta =(\mu -1)A\] As \[{{\mu }_{B}}>{{\mu }_{R}},\] so \[{{\delta }_{B}}>{{\delta }_{R}}\]. Hence the blue colour is deviated more than red colour on passing through a prism.
