    Differentiate between Cold Weather Season and Hot Weather Season of India by explaining three distinctive features of each.

    Cold Weather Season   Hot Weather Season
    (a) Cold weather begins from mid-November and lasts till February. Temperature decreases from North to South. (b) The days are short and warm, the nights are cold and long. (c) Weather is normally marked by clear sky and light winds. (d) Western disturbances, cyclonic winds, strike the north western parts of India and cause light rainfall in the plains and snowfall in the mountains. (e) North-East trade winds blow from land to sea and are offshore winds. (a) Hot weather begins from March till June. The temperature increases from South to North. (b) Days are hot and long and nights are warm and short. (c) Weather is hot and dry, dust storms are common, there may be rains after dust storms (d) Hot dry winds, locally known as "Loo", blow in the afternoon in northern plains of India. (e) Winds blow from sea to land and are moisture bearing.
