By the time Bay of Bengal branch reaches Rajasthan, it has shed most of its moisture on the way as it blows from east to winds. (b) Owing to high temperature over the Thar desert region, the capacity of air to hold moisture increases further and the winds rise higher causing scanty rainfall.
