(a) Khada: The new alluvium in the flood plains of rivers. It provides the best fertile areas, subject to floods. It is more fertile than Bhangar. (b) Bhangar: The old alluvium in the plains. It forms the alluvial uplands above the level of flood plains. It contains Kankar nodules with calcium carbonates in sub-soil. (c) Alluvium: It is the fine silt brought down and deposited by rivers. Rivers deposit alluvium mostly after the floods. Alluvium is very fertile soil, good for agriculture.
