Direction: In each question three statements followed by two conclusions numbered l and II have been given. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with the commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements. Give answer.
Statements:  All words are letters. No letter is a number. All numbers are digits. Conclusions: I. No word is a digit. II. All tatters being digits is a possibility.

    A)  If only conclusion II follows.

    B)  If both conclusion I and II follow.

    C)  If neither conclusion I nor II follows.

    D)  If either conclusion I or II follows.

    E)  If only conclusion I follows.

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

All Words arc letters  + No letter is a number [E] = A + E = E = No word is a number [E] + All number are digits  = E + A = Q* = Some digits are not words (O*). Hence conclusion I does not follow. Again, No letter is a number [E] + All number are digits  = E + A = O* = some digits are not letters. Thus, the possibility in II exists. Hence, conclusion JI follows.
