Direction: In each question three statements followed by two conclusions numbered l and II have been given. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with the commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements. Give answer.
Statements:  Some rumors are gossips. All gossips are judgements. No judgement is an intention. Conclusions: I. At least some judgements are rumors. II. All intentions being rum ours is a possibility.

    A)  If only conclusion II follows.

    B)  If both conclusion I and II follow.

    C)  If neither conclusion I nor II follows.

    D)  If either conclusion I or II follows.

    E)  If only conclusion I follows.

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Some rumours are gossips (I) + All gossips are judgements [A] = I - A = I = some rumours are judgements (I) \[\to \] conversion \[\to \] some judgements are rumours (I). Hence conclusion I follows. Now, some rumours are judgements (1) + No judgement is an intention [E] = I + E = 0 = some rumours are not intentions (0). It means the possibility between 'rumours' and 'intentions' in II exists. Hence conclusion II also follows.
