Write short notes on the following
    (i) Importance of light for plants to survive.
(ii) Adaptation of seal in polar regions.
(iii) Behavioural adaptations in desert lizards.

    Answer:

    (i) Plants require sunlight for photosynthesis to prepare food. They release oxygen during the process which is essential for our survival.
Light also fulfills the photoperiodic requirement of flowering in plants.
(ii) Adaptation of seal in polar regions includes a thick layer of fat called blubber below their skin. It acts as an insulator and reduces the loss of body heat.
(iii) Behavioural adaptations in desert lizards include animals which move into shade and burrow into the soil to escape ground heat. When temperature drops, they absorb heat from the sun.
