In what way does the cell-mediated system work in our body in case of an infection?

    Answer:

The cell-mediated immune system protects our body against foreign agents by producing T-cells. An activated T-cell is specific to a target cell which is infected. If kills the target cell by variety of mechanism and prevents the completion of life cycle of pathogen. T-lymphocytes are normally of four types, i.e. helper T-cells, cytotoxic T-cells, memory T-cells and regulatory T-cells. This immunity also reacts against transplants and cancerous cells.
