    (i) Write the specific locations and functions of the following cells in human males.
    (a) Leydig cells                                      
    (b) Primary spermatocytes.
    (ii) Explain the role of bulbourethral glands in human male reproductive system.

    Answer:

    (i) (a) Leydig cells or interstitial cells are located in the regions outside the seminiferous tubule called  interstitial  spaces. These cells synthesise and secrete testicular hormone called androgens.
    (b) Primary spermatocytes are located inside the seminiferous tubule and are involved in the formation of spermatozoa.
    (ii) Bulbourethral glands These secrete mucus and alkaline fluid into the urethra. The mucus helps in the lubrication of penis and neutralises any urinary acids in urethra.
