    Direction:  Each of the next 15 questions consists of two statements, one labelled as 'assertion' (A) and other as 'Reason' (R). You are to examine these two statements carefully and select the correct answer.
    Assertion (A) The effect of the frustrating event is to discharge the contract immediately after the event.
    Reason (R) A frustrating event is one which renders the performance of the contract impossible by no fault of either party.

    Solution :

    Both A and R are correct and R is the correct explanation of A, according to the Section 56 Indian Contract Act, 1872, which states that, the effect of frustrating event is to discharge the contract immediately after the event, which means that, a frustrating event is one due to which the performance of contract becomes impossible and neither of the party is at fault.
