Answer:

(i) Patrick thought that his cat was playing with a doll. But he was mistaken. Instead, the doll was really a little man or elf.

(ii) Taro worked very hard the whole day, therefore he was very thirsty. Besides he had never seen any spring in that part of the forest. Thus he ran in the direction of the stream.

(iii) While in space Kalpana Chawla sent a message to the students of her college in Chandigarh that the path from dream to reality really existed and prayed that they should have vision to realize the same. She wished them a great journey. Yes, I agree with her. With vision and hard work, success is possible.

(iv) When aunt realized that she is no more required in that house she asked Jumman to give her monthly allowance so that she might have separate kitchen.

(v) Rasheed was upset because despite his best efforts, he could not win a good prize.

(vi) The mongoose is a small, three feet long animal yet a superb fighter. He is clever and aggressive. The mongoose is faster and quicker in motion than the cobra and therefore, overpowers him soon. The cobra too is a skillful and experienced fighter. It stares at the opponent with glossy unwinking eyes. It moves swiftly and strikes with the speed of light. It has two fangs full of deadly poison.
