Answer:

(a) The messengers were sent throughout the kingdom to announce a reward for those who could answer the question of the king, satisfactorily.

(b) The music teacher tried not to look too happy on getting Gopu Mama's chappals because he did not want to show his excitement and greed at getting new chappals.

(c) Nishad knocked at Mr. Nath's door one day to collect his marble. When he entered the room, he thrust some chocolates in his hand. This surprised Mr. Nath when Nishad first met him

(d) Every year we spend millions of rupees for fighting fires. We spend even large sum of money to find out ways to prevent fire from. Happening and going out of control. In the process we have learnt to control fire and use it for our own betterment.

(e) When the author returned from the tool shed, his friend had taken out the from wheel of the bicycle. His friend was sitting on the ground with the wheel between his legs. He was playing with the wheel while the other parts of the bicycle were lying on the gravel path beside him.

(f) The opinion of the speaker's brother about the shed is that there is a presence of a ghost inside it, He was afraid of it and warned the speaker that if he ever dared to go inside the haunted shed, the ghost living there might chop off his head. So, he should not go there. Saying so, the speaker's brother made the speaker terrified and afraid.
