My Favourite Place

My favourite place is my grandmother?s village near Agra city. Her village is very calm and peaceful and not over-crowded like our cities. It is indeed a great joy to spend a few holidays there. There is fresh air all around. The green fields present a very beautiful sight. The food is simple and healthy. There is no noise pollution and no traffic jams. The people are simple and care for each other. I love to go there in the rainy season because I can also see the peacocks dancing in the fields, which is a rare opportunity.

There is a popular saying, ?All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.? It clearly points out the importance of games and sports. Games and sports are necessary for the all-round development of a child. It makes everyone alert and energetic. One should spare some time from their studies and devote it to sports. Sports give food to our body, mind and soul. Sports teach us the value of discipline, cooperation and tolerance. Sports also teach us how to work as a team. While playing every player is the member of a team and he has to play not for his own good but for the welfare of the whole team. The students learn lessons of true sportsmanship by playing various games and sports. Hence, games and sports should be given due importance. Giving proper hours to studies is good but this does not mean that one should avoid playing. There should be proper balance between studies and playing games and sports.

Modern gadgets are a boon to us because they have made our lives very comfortable. Through wireless, telegraph and fax machines messages can now be easily sent to any part of the world. Modern gadgets incorporate all the comforts and highest standards in engineering innovation and reliability that have greatly contributed to man?s growth. New equipment?s for navigation, data-processing, computer controlled radar system providing information on a variety of new products for use at construction sites are advantages of the modern gadgets. They have greatly contributed to our entertainment such as television, compact discs both audio and visual, radios, etc. As a result of the inventions of these modern gadgets man?s lifestyle has changed completely. Now one cannot think of life without them, as they have become necessities of our life. They have also added to the power of man. At a lot of places, they help to reduce manual labour. It saves on time, paper and ink as well.
