[c] Wavell Plan made by the then Viceroy of the India. It tried to solve the matter of handing over the power to Indians. His proposals were not accepted to Muslim league as they considered themselves as the sole representators of Muslims and Muslim representatives of Congress were not acceptable to them. All members of the Central Executive Council barring the Governor-General and the Commander-in-Chief were to be Indians. Defence of Indians was to be in the hands of a British General till power was transferred to the Indian hands.
