    Solution :

    Let the distance be x km. Then\[\frac{x}{40}+\frac{x}{6}=13+\frac{48}{60}=\frac{69}{5}\] \[\frac{23x}{120}=\frac{69}{5}\] \[\therefore x=\frac{120\times 69}{5\times 23}=72km\]
