    Direction: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below:
    The table shows the number of employees (in thousand) in different sectors in different years.
    If the average number of employees in Fuel sector is 45 thousand and the total number of employees in 2011 is 300 thousand, then what is the difference between the number of employees in Fuel sector in the year 2013 and the total number of employees in Others sector in the year 2011?

    A)  46.8 thousand

    B)  45.6 thousand

    C)  43.8 thousand

    D)  47.7 thousand

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

     The number of persons employed in Fuel sector in \[\begin{align}   & 2013=45\times 5-(71+18+45+21)= \\  & 225-155=70\,\,\,\text{thousand} \\ \end{align}\] The number of persons employed in 2011 \[=300-(53.3+36+22+71)=300-182.3\] = 117.7 thousand \[\therefore \]Required difference\[=\text{ }117.7-70\] \[\text{= 47}\text{.7 thousand}\]
