  • question_answer
If \[{{z}_{1}}\] and \[{{z}_{2}}\] are roots of quadratic equation \[a{{z}^{2}}+bz+c=0\]such that \[lm({{z}_{1}}{{z}_{2}})\ne 0\]then

    A)  a, b, c are ail real

    B)  at least one of a, b, c is real

    C)  at least one of a. b, c is imaginary

    D)  a, b. c are all imaginary.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

\[a{{z}^{2}}+bz+c=0\]\[lm({{z}_{1}}{{z}_{2}})\ne 0\Rightarrow \]roots cannot be complex conjugate of each other \[\therefore \]all a,b,c cannot be real hence, at least one of them is imaginary.
