The minimum force required to move a body up and inclined plane is three times the minimum force required to prevent it from sliding down the plane. If the coefficient of friction between the body and the inclined plane is \[\frac{1}{2\sqrt{3}}\] the angle of the inclined plane is:

    A)  \[{{60}^{o}}\]

    B)  \[{{45}^{o}}\]

    C)  \[{{30}^{o}}\]

    D)  \[{{15}^{o}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Minimum force required to move a body up a rough inclined plane, \[{{F}_{1}}=mg(\sin \theta f\,+\mu \,\cos \theta )\] Minimum force required to prevent the body from sliding down the rough 'inclined plane \[{{F}_{2}}=\mu mg\,\cos \theta \] According to question \[{{F}_{1}}=3{{F}_{2}}\]we get \[\theta ={{30}^{0}}\]
