  • question_answer
A coin & a dice is thrown. If A denotes the event head & even face and B denotes the event tail & multiple of 3. Then-

    A)  \[P(A)=\frac{1}{4}\]

    B)  \[P(B)=\frac{1}{5}\]

    C)  \[P(A)=\frac{1}{3}\]

    D)  \[P(B)=\frac{2}{3}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    [a] \[S=\left\{ H1,H2,H3,H4,H5,H6,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6 \right\}\] \[n\left( S \right)=12\] \[A=\left\{ H2,H4,H6 \right\}\] \[B=\left\{ T3,T6 \right\}\] \[\Rightarrow n\left( A \right)=3\] \[n\left( B \right)=2\] \[\therefore P(A)=\frac{3}{12}=\frac{1}{4}\]             \[P(B)=\frac{2}{12}=\frac{1}{6}\] Hence, option [a] is correct.
