    Find the area of a rhombus whose side is 5 cm and whose altitude is 4.8 cm. If one of its diagonal is 8 cm long, find the length of the other diagonal.

    Answer:

    We have Area of rhombus = base \[\times \] altitude
    \[=5\times 4.8\]
    \[=\text{ }24\text{ }c{{m}^{2}}~~\]
    Also,         Area of rhombus \[=\frac{1}{2}\,{{d}_{1}}.{{d}_{2}}\]
    24                    \[=\frac{1}{2}\times 8\times {{d}_{2}}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \,\,\,{{d}_{2}}\]      \[=\frac{24\times 2}{8}=6\] cm
    \[\therefore \]      Area of rhombus \[=\text{ }24\text{ }{{m}^{2}}\]
    Other diagonal of rhombus = 6 cm.
