(a) We have, P = Rs 1,200, R = 12% p.a. and T = 3 years.

\[S.I.\text{ }=Rs\,~\left( \frac{1200\times 12\times 3}{100} \right)=Rs\,\,432\]

Now, Amount = P + S.I.

= Rs (1200 + 432) = Rs 1,632 2

(b) We have, P = Rs 7,500, R = 5% p.a. and T = 3 years

\[S.I.\text{ }=~\frac{P\times R\times T}{100}\]

\[S.I.\text{ }=Rs\,~\left( \frac{7500\times 5\times 3}{100} \right)=Rs\,\,1,125\]

Now, Amount = P + S.I.

= Rs (7500 + 1125) = Rs 8,625
