Akash bought vegetables weighing 10 kg. Out of this, 3 kg 500 g is onion, 2 kg 75 g is tomatoes and rest is potatoes. What is the weight of the potatoes?

    Answer:

    Total weight of vegetables bought = 10 kg Weight of Onion \[=3\text{ }kg\text{ }500\text{ }g=3\text{ }kg+\frac{500}{1000}kg\]                                              \[=3.500\text{ }kg\]                                                                       Weight of Tomatoes \[=2\,\,kg\,\,75\,\,g\]                               \[=2\,\,kg+\left( \frac{75}{1000} \right)kg\]                               \[=2.075\,\,kg\]                                                                                                           Total weight of these vegetables \[=3.500\text{ }kg+2.075\text{ }kg=5.575\text{ }kg\]                                                                               Then, weight of Potatoes \[=10.000\text{ }kg-5.575\text{ }kg\] \[=4.425\text{ }kg\] \[=4\text{ }kg\text{ }425\text{ }g\]
