    Daniel is painting the walls & wiling of a cuboidal hall with length, breadth and height of 15 m, 10 m and 7 m respectively. From each can of paint 100 m2 of area is painted. How many cans of paint will she need to paint the room?

    Answer:

    l = 15, m, b = 10 m and h = 7m
    Total surface area of room = 2 (lb + bh + hl)
    \[=2\left( 15\times 10+10\times 7+7\times 15 \right)\]
    \[=2\left( 150+70+105 \right)\]
    \[=650\text{ }{{m}^{2}}\]
    Area of floor \[=\text{ }l\times b\]
    \[=15\times 10=150\text{ }{{m}^{2}}\]
    Area painted by Daniel \[=650150\]
    \[=\text{ }500\text{ }{{m}^{2}}\]
    \[\therefore \,\,\,\,100\text{ }{{m}^{2}}\]area painted by 1 can
    \[\therefore \,\] 500 \[{{m}^{2}}\] area painted \[=\frac{1}{100}\times 500\]
    = 5 cans.
