    Solution :

    Total population of town \[=15\times \frac{\text{Number}\,\,\text{of}\,\,\text{males}}{\text{Number}\,\,\text{of}\,\,\text{females}}\] \[=\frac{7}{8}\] \[\therefore \]Number of males and females = 7x and 8x Number of male children = 25% of 7x \[=\frac{25}{100}\times 7x=1.75x\] Number of female children = 20% of \[8x=\frac{20}{100}\times 8x=1.6x\] \[\therefore \]Number of adult female \[=8x-1.6x=6.4x\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[6.4x=235200\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{235200}{6.4}=36750\] \[\therefore \]Total population of town \[=15\times 36750=551250\]
