    Let side of square of 'a,' then
    \[{{a}^{2}}+{{a}^{2}}={{(72)}^{2}}\]
    \[2{{a}^{2}}={{(72)}^{2}}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\sqrt{2a}=72\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[a=\frac{72}{\sqrt{2}}\]
    \[\therefore \]The perimeter of square
    \[=4a=4\times \frac{72}{\sqrt{2}}=144\sqrt{2}\,\,\text{cm}\]
