    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    Let the required distance be x km
    Difference of time \[=6+6=12\] min\[=\frac{12}{60}=\frac{1}{5}\text{h}\]
    According to the question,
    \[\frac{x}{5}-\frac{x}{7}=\frac{1}{5}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{2x}{5}-\frac{2x}{7}=\frac{1}{5}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{14x-10x}{35}=\frac{1}{5}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{4x}{35}=\frac{1}{5}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{35}{4\times 5}=\frac{7}{4}=1\frac{3}{4}\,\,\text{km}\]
