    Solution :

    Let the present ages of brothers be x and 2x yr, Then, 5 yr ago \[\frac{x-5}{2x-5}=\frac{1}{3}\Rightarrow 3x-15=2x-5\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=15-5=10\] \[\therefore \]      Age of elder brother \[=10\times 2=20\] \[\therefore \]      Required ratio \[=\frac{10+5}{20+5}=\frac{15}{25}=3:5\]
