    Let the original rate be Rs. x per item, \[\therefore \]Reduced rate \[=\left( 100-\frac{100}{3} \right)\times \frac{1}{100}x=\frac{2}{3}x\] \[\therefore \]\[\frac{1}{\frac{2}{3}x}-\frac{1}{x}=4\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{3}{2x}-\frac{1}{x}=4\] \[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{3-2}{2x}=4\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{1}{2x}=4\] \[\Rightarrow \]\[x=\frac{1}{8}\] = 8 per rupee
