A retired judge of High Court cannot:

    A)  Practice in the Supreme Court

    B)  Practice in any High Court of India

    C)  Practice in the High Court from where he has retired

    D)  Practice in any court of India

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

[c] A former judge or member of a judicial forum can't practise before the same forum without attracting a reasonable likelihood of bias, the Supreme Court observes. The only provision which places a restriction on post-retirement occupation of judges of the High Courts is Article 220 which states: 'No person who, after the commencement of this Constitution, has held office as a permanent Judge of a High Court shall plead or act in any Court or before any authority in India, except the Supreme Court and the other High Courts'."
