    [c] The Tenth Schedule was added to the Constitution in 1974. It ended the protectorate status of Sikkim and accorded it the status of an associate state. The above schedule was deleted by the Thirty-sixth Amendment in 1975 and Sikkim was accorded the status of a full-fledged state. Later on in 1985, a new Tenth Schedule was added to the Constitution which contained provisions regarding disqualifications on grounds of defection.
