    Consider the following statements
    1. Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display (SED) uses much less power than an LCD television of the same size.
    2. Field Emission Diode (FED) screen consists a series of metal stripes onto a glass plate to form a series of cathode lines. Which of the statements given above is/are correct?

    A)  Only 1

    B)  Only 2

    C)  Both 1 and 2

    D)  neither 1 nor 2

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

[c] LCDs do not directly produce light, and have to be back-lit using cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) or high-power LEDs. SEDs are very closely related to the field emission display (FED), differing only in the details of the emitter. FEDs use small spots containing hundreds of carbon nano tubes whose sharp tips give off electrons when placed in a strong electrical field.
