    [b] Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain was a Muslim feminist and social reformer who dedicated her life to education and the empowerment of women. In 1916, she founded the Muslim Women's Association, an organization that argued for women's education and employment. In 1926, Rokeya presided over the Bengal Women's Education Conference held in Calcutta, the first noted attempt to bring women together in support of women's education rights. She was active in debates and conferences concerning the advancement of women. Sister Subhalakshmi was a dauntless savior of the neglected and socially marginal, widow community of India. All her life, she unflinchingly claimed the fundamental rights for women and the necessary improvement in the status of widow, particularly in the Madras Presidency of British India. Kesab Chandra Sen is well known for women education. Women's education was one of Keshab's greatest concern. Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy (1877-1947) was one of the great art historians of the twentieth century whose multifaceted writings deal primarily with visual art, aesthetics, literature and language, folklore, mythology, religion, and metaphysics.
