    Solution :

    As,            \[{{I}_{1}}=\frac{{{I}_{0}}}{2},\] (Because two polaroids are crossed to each other) and             \[{{I}_{2}}={{I}_{1}}{{\cos }^{2}}\phi \]                 \[=\frac{{{I}_{0}}}{2}\times {{\cos }^{2}}\,{{45}^{o}}\]                 \[={{I}_{2}}=\frac{{{I}_{0}}}{2}=0.25{{I}_{0}}=25%\]
