Harshal bought an article for Rs. 380 and he spent Rs. 20% of selling price on repairing. Although he got a profit of 20%, then what will be the selling price of that article? |
A) Rs. 600
B) Rs. 660
C) Rs. 760
D) Rs. 330
Correct Answer: A
Solution :
Let SP of the article = Rs. x |
CP of the article = Rs. 380 |
Amount spent on repairing \[=\frac{20\times x}{100}=Rs.\frac{x}{5}\] |
According to the question, |
\[\left( 380+\frac{x}{5} \right)+\left( 380+\frac{x}{5} \right)\times \frac{20}{100}=x\] |
\[\Rightarrow \] \[\left( 380+\frac{x}{5} \right)\times \frac{6}{5}=x\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{380\times 6}{5}+\frac{6x}{25}=x\] |
\[\Rightarrow \] \[\frac{380\times 6}{5}=\frac{19x}{25}\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[x=\frac{380\times 6\times 25}{5\times 19}=Rs.\,600\] |
